Lech Wałęsa

(Born September 29, 1943 in Popowo) - Polish politician and union activist, a professional electrician. Co-founder and first chairman of Solidarity, the dissident during the communist era. Polish president in 1990-1995. In August 1980 he participated in organizing planned by Bogdan Borusewicz strike in the Gdansk Shipyard.
